FASHION TRUST ARABIA GALA

National Museum of Qatar, Doha

Set Design

The annual Fashion Trust Arabia Prize took place in Doha at the National Museum of Qatar in November 2022. The FTA gala recognises and awards up-and-coming fashion designers from across the Middle East, North Africa region and internationally.

The set design comprises a series of mirror portals; they reflect the region's rich history and open up opportunities for future emerging talents. Taking inspiration from the breathtaking Desert Rose Museum by Jean Novel, the circular geometry of the stage sits harmoniously with its surroundings. The arrangement of the LED screens creates a perspectival illusion with carefully designed video content.

The guests arrived at the garden space where the Step and Repeat took place, followed by a dînatoire at the Old Palace. Located in the open courtyard of the museum, the gala event began with a stunning performance by FKA Twigs. Presented by Jodie Turner-Smith and Near Abou Nassar, the event was attended by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bent Nasser, Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Tania Fares, Bella Hadid, Janet Jackson, Olivier Rousteing, Poppy Delevingne, Maya Jama etc.
